Global MissionsCONTACT the Global Mission team Our current GLOBAL WORKERS
We believe the mission of the Church is to participate in the mission of God, which is to save the lost, to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked and to bring liberty to those who are oppressed (Luke 4:18-19).
HOPE Christian Fellowship therefore sees as its scriptural purpose the fulfilling of the Great Commission of Christ—calling people to faith in Christ, making disciples, teaching and incorporating them into a local body of believers (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8) and the fulfilling of the Great Commandment of Christ—sharing God’s love through ministering to human need (Matthew 22:36-40, Matthew 25:31-40).
Mission includes the proclamation and demonstration of the gospel. This means not simply that evangelism and social involvement are to be done alongside each other. Rather, our proclamation has social consequences as we call people to love and repentance in all areas of life and our social involvement has evangelistic consequences as we bear witness to the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.
The Local Church – All involvement in mission should be in the context of a local church body that is reaching out to the community and will be evaluated by the long-term contribution it makes to the church growing in that community, location, or region.
Relationship – We will collaborate with, support and send out those we have developed a sustained relationship with.
Partnership – We commit to partner with other Christian organizations (e.g. mission agencies) wherever possible to share complementary strengths and resources to reach a common goal in missions.
Financial Integrity – We commit to be forthright in all financial matters and view all contributions as gifts to the Lord that have been entrusted to our care. It is our responsibility to spend those gifts wisely in any ministry including local and foreign mission engagement.
Global Christian Discipleship – We commit to nurture global Christians at HOPE. Though not every Christian is called to work internationally, every believer is called to be a global Christian. We encourage members to be globally informed, pray for global issues and get involved with our global workers in various forms of support.
