Empowering Youth - One of Our Seven Core Values
"We believe each child and young person is a gift from God and a leader of tomorrow.  We will empower them as disciples of Christ, helping them to know God’s Word, root their identity in Christ, serve God actively, and develop a passion for Christ and His global purposes. We encourage our youth to dream great dreams, changing their generation for God."  Did you know we empower teenagers 14 years and up with the opportunity to be fully vested church members?(Deuteronomy 6:4-8, Psalm 78:1-8, 1 Timothy 4:12)

As such, the Youth Ministry of HCF exists to help teenagers experience the Living God and be who he designed them to be, develop and grow in relationships with Christian peers and adults, and see themselves as crucial, active parts of God’s family.  A core value of HCF is to empower youth. We desire that Hope be a place where young people of the San Gabriel Valley can feel safe, comfortable, and welcome and have the opportunity to grow in relationship with Jesus and with other students.

**   MIDDLE SCHOOL!!  **

Grades 6-8 meet every Sunday morning from 10:30 – 12 downstairs where they are welcomed, loved, accepted, and encouraged.  These years involve great opportunities to discover who God is on deeper levels as these incredible young teens go through some tough challenges of life.  Once a month after church the Middle Schoolers will get together and do something fun or service oriented that they can invite their friends to.  Contact the Middle School Director, Tom Martinez at thomas.martinez@hotmail.com for questions or more information.

**  HIGH SCHOOL **

We meet on Saturday nights during the summer and Sunday nights during the school year.  Sr. high students (grades 9-12) meet together in a large group (a.k.a. F.I.R.E.) to learn more about Jesus and His love, passion, and purposes.  During large groups we meet in the sanctuary (or sometimes outside on the patio during the summer) for games, dynamic worship, relevant Biblical teaching, discussion, and prayer - a safe place to grow, be real, talk through your issues, and ask questions about faith and Christianity.  These youth are changing the world and inspire the larger congregation on many levels!  We love these young adults! Contact the Youth Pastor, Mike Gabelman at mikeg@hopechristianfellowship.net for questions or more information.

**  D-GROUPS  **

Discipleship small groups (a.k.a.D-Groups) provide an environment of acceptance, belonging, accountability, and community.  Students will meet in homes, coffee shops or where ever your group wants to meet. D-Groups are all about growth in the context of a loving community - groups of about 3-7 students with 1-2 adult mentors - guys with guys, girls with girls. We often start off by going through some foundational material called “Foundations of the Faith”.  Students are empowered to turn around and help their friends on campus take ownership of their faith as well.  If you are interested in a D-Group, just contact Mike Gabelman for the latest information at mikeg@hopechristianfellowship.net or 626-863-3119 (cell) or 626-287-9997 (church).
