A Multi-Cultural Community Church

Community

Jesus calls us to reach out to those around us as part of our identity in Him. We are to be the light of the world, a place of shelter, a bit of yeast which causes the whole loaf of bread – or, rather, the whole community around us – to rise to higher levels. (Matthew 5:14; 13:1-33) At HOPE we have continued to develop our awareness of this call, especially through our HOPE Groups.

Our desire is that every HOPE Group and member will begin to see it as their mandate to reach out with Jesus’ love to help transform the community in which we live. Words alone are not enough. The community needs to see and experience God’s love in concrete ways. Community service is one of the ways we can tangibly reach out. When people see our genuine love and concern, they are drawn to Jesus, and opportunities to share who He is (super)naturally develop.
